SITE. is a project by Daniela Flint and Evan Court. It is designed to function as a white cube gallery showing contemporary art. SITE. does not have a permanent gallery location and chooses to restrict the duration of each show to the opening night/day. These elements create a fresh and heightened experience every time the viewer attends a SITE. exhibition.
Artists, as well as the art community, are prioritized as viewers. Creating a space for community building and inspiration is a goal of the project, as opposed to the buyer centric environment of commercial galleries. Collectors and patrons are not excluded, artists are included and their commodification is rejected by SITE.
The mobility of the project allows the gallery to be taken anywhere. This element creates opportunities for art to be accessible in areas where it might not have been in the past, and for greater diversity where it already exists.
In addition to the gallery element SITE. also hosts events outside the walls of the white cube targeted directly at the community. This is done through material swaps, potluck events and social gatherings designed to bring the art community together and promote its growth.
